Dear Chess friends,

In honor of the independence day of Suriname (November 25), and after the enormous success of the 1st and 2nd Srefidensi tournament, the Surinaamse Schaakbond will organize the 3rd Srefidensi Chess Celebration tournament, from Friday, November 20th, 2015 until Wednesday, November 25th, 2015.

This international chess tournament will consist of a Master and an Open class.

It’s our intention to have a very strong participation in the Master Class based on a playing strength >2200 ELO rating and personal invitations.

The Organizing Committee will cover the travel (economy class air ticket) and hotel expenses (based on double occupancy) of the players for the Master class holding a FIDE title GM/WGM/IM/WIM with an ELO rating>2200. In the Master Class the Organization Committee will cover the cost of accommodation (based on double occupancy) for one player of every participating federation.

For the Open class the Organizing Committee will also provide accommodation (based on double occupancy) for one participant of every federation.

The tournament format in the Master class will be a 9 (nine) round Swiss and in the Open class it will be a 7 round Swiss.

Therefore we invite you to come to Suriname and participate in our 3rd Srefidensi international Chess Celebration in Paramaribo, Suriname.
